How do I activate my trust/SMSF trading account?

In order to start investing for your trust/SMSF with nabtrade, you will first need to establish a nabtrade trading account in the name of your trust. You can establish a nabtrade trading account by following the steps:

  1. Visit nabtrade.com.au and select 'Join'
  2. Complete the online application form.
  3. Provide us with a copy of your trust deed in one of the following ways:

a) Post a copy of the trust deed to: nabtrade, GPO Box 4545, Melbourne, Victoria 3001

b) Email a copy of your trust deed from the email address you provided in your application. For SMSF Accounts please send to smsf.service@nab.com.au. For all other Trust Accounts please use forms@nabtrade.com.au

If you are an existing NAB customer and you have already provided your trust deeds to a NAB branch, please advise us on 1300 184 139 (SMSF Accounts) or 13 13 80 (all other Trusts).

While we don’t require the entire deed, we do require (at minimum) the pages that state the name of the trust, the trustees, the members/beneficiaries, and the signature/execution page.

HELPFUL HINT: It is important when completing the application form that your application matches the details of the trust deed.

Should you be moving across from another broker, it is also important that your CHESS registration details with the other broker match your new nabtrade CHESS registration details to ensure a smooth transfer. If the CHESS registration details do not match between the other broker and nabtrade (for example, there has been a change of trustee), the transfer can be processed with Off Market Transfer forms instead. These CHESS details can be found on any confirmation notes, dividend or holding statements.
