What’s included when you set up your SMSF
Heffron will set up your SMSF and register it with the ATO. Once Heffron have set the fund up, you will receive instructions on how to open your NAB Cash Manager account and nabtrade accounts. Once we have your applications, we’ll then open your NAB accounts, so you can manage your fund in one convenient online experience.
You'll also receive a complete administration service from Heffron, including:
- Preparation of financial statements, member statements and operating statements
- Tax lodgement
- Impartial third-party audit
- Online access to all fund investments
- Up to date reporting of contributions and pensions

Before you set up an SMSF it's important you familiarise yourself with the risks and benefits of running a fund.
Apply
Simply complete the online application form and submit your application.
Apply in less than 20 minutes.
Establish
Once Heffron has received your completed application:
1. You'll receive an SMSF establishment pack for you to sign and return to Heffron.
2. Heffron will register your fund with the ATO.
3. You’ll receive your final fund details for your records.
Activate
Once your fund is established:
1. You can now open your NAB Cash Manager and nabtrade accounts. Heffron will let you know when and how you open your SMSFs bank accounts.
2. You can rollover your existing superannuation balance.
3. You can direct any employer contributions to your SMSF.
