How do I open a nabtrade account online for a trust with multiple Individual trustees and beneficiaries?

NAB’s multiple applicant trust onboarding feature allows customers to invite all required parties such as individual trustees and beneficiaries to complete their onboarding digitally. This removes the need to visit a branch or complete paper forms.

Primary Applicant FAQs

1. How can I invite additional connected parties to onboard themselves?

During your application, you’ll be prompted to enter contact details (email and mobile) for connected parties such as Individual trustees or Beneficiaries. NAB will send them an invitation to onboard themselves digitally from donotreply@nab.com.au

2. Do I receive any status update of my application and the onboarding of connected parties.

Yes, the primary applicant receives the acknowledgement of successful application submission via text and email.

There are text and email reminders sent on Day 2, Day 4 and Day 6 confirming the status of the application including how many connected parties have actioned the invite and how many are pending. Application submission date is considered as Day 0 and these are calendar days.

Once the connected parties have accepted their invitations and verified their identity online, all applicants receive the successful application email as well as text.

 3. What happens if the connected party declines the invitation?

In a situation where any of the connected parties declines their invitation, the entire application will be cancelled. The main applicant and the connected party who declines will receive information about cancellation of the application.

4. How long does the application remain active before it expires?

The application remains active for 7 days before it expires.

5. What happens after the application expires?

Once the application expires, the primary applicant will need to submit a new nabtrade application.

6. Can a Business NIN be used during multi‑party onboarding?

No. Business NIN’s cannot be used by the Primary Applicant during multi-party onboarding. The Primary Applicant must complete onboarding using their personal NIN.

NOTE: To obtain a personal NIN, you need to be a personal banking customer at NAB.
